How to Request Funding
The Litchfield Education Foundation provides funding for three types of projects.
Types of Grants

Mini-Grants - requests less than $1,000
(use mini-grant form)

Intermediate Level Grants - requests more than $1,000
(use Intermediate & Capital Request form)

Capital Projects - requests deemed tangible, with lasting value, have no personnel involved, and are not events
(use Intermediate & Capital Request form)
Guidelines:
- Request should not be in an operational budget
- Request should serve the community at large
- Request should be educational in nature
- Request should be innovative or foster innovation
- Scholarships will not be awarded
- Requests should be approved by the appropriate administrator(s)
- Mini-grant - Building Principal
- Intermediate Level & Capital - Principal & Superintendent
- Copy of all grant requests to Central Office

Note: For grants requests within the Litchfield Public Schools - funds are distributed by the LPS Business Office.  

LEF does not directly provide funding to the applicant except for community based projects which do not use school facilities.

Intermediate Level Grants and Capital Projects
Intermediate Level & Capital Grants can be submitted at any time.
Approval by the building principal and the superintendent is required.
Requests will be forwarded to LEF by the Central Office.

Deadlines for Mini-Grant Requests
All grant requests must be signed
by Building Principal and Superintendent.
Central Office will forward to LEF
Submit to Supt. by October 10, 2008
Submit to Supt. by March 6, 2009
Submit to Supt. by May 8, 2009
LEF will not review grant requests
submitted after May 8, 2009 until Oct. 2009
(Mini-grant decisions are usually made within two weeks of the deadline date.)
